Welcoming your baby into the world is one of life’s most precious moments—and preserving those memories through photography is a gift you’ll cherish forever. But when it comes to newborn photography, safety should always come first.
As a Corpus Christi newborn photographer, my priority is creating beautiful images while making sure your baby is safe, comfortable, and cared for every step of the way. Here’s what parents should know before booking a newborn session.

Gentle Posing and Baby-Led Comfort
Newborns are delicate, and not every pose you see online is achieved the way it looks. Many of the “Pinterest-worthy” poses are actually composites—meaning two or more photos are safely combined in editing to create the illusion of a pose.
I never force a baby into an uncomfortable position. Every movement is slow, gentle, and baby-led. If a baby resists or fusses, I adapt the pose or try a different setup.
A Clean, Calm Studio Environment
Babies have sensitive immune systems, so I take cleanliness seriously. My studio is sanitized before every session, blankets and wraps are freshly laundered, and I always wash my hands (and use sanitizer) frequently during your session.
The environment is kept warm and calm, so your baby can stay comfortable, relaxed, and cozy throughout their time in front of the camera.
I also take extra precautions against illness to protect the little ones I photograph. I am fully vaccinated and stay up to date on boosters so that families can feel confident bringing their newborn into my studio.
Supporting Baby at All Times
If a pose requires extra support, I always have a parent or assistant nearby to keep a hand on baby. In editing, those hands are removed to achieve the final polished image.
Your baby’s head, neck, and airways are always supported—I never balance or prop a baby in a way that could risk their safety.
Timing Matters: The Newborn Window
Newborn sessions are typically best between 7–20 days old. During this time, babies are naturally sleepier and more flexible, which makes posing safer and easier.
Of course, every baby is unique, and I always work within their comfort level, no matter their age.
Training, Experience, and Certification
One of the most important things to know as a parent is that your baby is in qualified hands. Along with years of hands-on newborn photography experience:
8+ years of experience as a newborn photographer
I have taken multiple courses in safe newborn posing
I am CPR certified
I bring nearly 20 years of experience in the healthcare field, including time working in a pediatric hospital emergency room
I take preventive health measures and am fully vaccinated
This unique background allows me to combine artistic creativity with professional-level safety awareness, giving you peace of mind throughout your session.
Your Role as Parents
Parents are a vital part of keeping sessions safe and successful. I’ll guide you through what to bring, how to prepare, and when to feed baby so they’re as content as possible. And don’t worry—you’ll never be far from your little one. Most parents sit just steps away during every setup.
Capturing Memories Without Compromise
Newborn photography is about freezing these once-in-a-lifetime moments, but never at the expense of safety. My goal is to create timeless images of your baby that you’ll treasure for years to come, while ensuring every detail is handled with care.
